Gyeongbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center's 'Outstanding Promising Company'
The Gyeongbuk Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (Director Lee Kyung-sik, hereinafter referred to as the Gyeongbuk Center) selected 12 companies for the 2020 Preliminary Startup Package's non-face-to-face program. The second company to be featured was PINOGEN Co., Ltd. (CEO Shin Byel), an agricultural corporation with outstanding performance and promising growth potential.
PINOGEN Co., Ltd. (CEO Shin Byel), an agricultural corporation that develops food, skincare, and health and hygiene products using domestically grown red pine and medicinal plants as its primary ingredients, received support from the Gyeongbuk Center as a company selected for the 2020 Preliminary Startup Package's non-face-to-face program, solidifying its foundation for entrepreneurship and achieving significant results.
PINOGEN Co., Ltd. has signed a formal export agreement with Benton, a California-based company, for its self-developed pine extract.
In February, BENTON announced that, based on sample testing results, they would like to import and distribute not only pine extract but also red pine oil health supplements, foam cleansers, and antiseptic air fresheners developed by PINOGEN in the US market, and hope to become a partner that can contribute to mutual growth.
PINOGEN is currently undergoing FDA approval for items eligible for export to the US and, depending on the export approval schedule, anticipates exports around May or June of this year.
PINOGEN`s CEO Shin Byel stated, "Despite the decline in exports due to COVID-19, we have demonstrated strong international interest in health and hygiene products made from Korean forest products.
We will continue to research the human health benefits of domestic medicinal plants and develop them into outstanding products, thereby promoting the excellence of Korean agricultural and forest products worldwide."
The Gyeongbuk Center, which successfully led the 2020 Preliminary Startup Package's general and non-face-to-face program, has been selected as the lead organization for the 2021 Preliminary Startup Package's general program.
Detailed application information can be found on the Gyeongbuk Center for Creative Economy and Innovation website or the K-Startup website.
